My therapeutic Approach
I utilize a Person-Centered approach. This places value on developing a productive, healthy relationship between client and therapist. The foundation of the relationship is based on Unconditional Positive Regard. While I use a wide range of therapeutic modalities, I try to stay rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
Cognitive behavioral therapy
Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is a widely used approach in the field of mental health. It focuses on helping individuals identify and challenge negative thought patterns and behaviors that contribute to their psychological distress. Through structured and goal-oriented sessions, CBT aims to teach clients practical skills to manage their emotions, improve problem-solving abilities, and develop healthier perspectives. Research has shown CBT to be effective in treating various mental health concerns, including anxiety disorders, depression, and post-traumatic stress disorder. If you're looking for a therapeutic approach that is collaborative, solution-focused, and evidence-based, CBT may be a beneficial option for you.
Exposure and Response Prevention
Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) is a treatment designed to help individuals confront and manage their anxiety. Through gradual and systematic exposure to feared objects, activities, or situations, individuals are encouraged to resist engaging in compulsive behaviors or rituals that typically serve to reduce their anxiety. By facing their fears in a safe and supportive environment, individuals can gradually learn to tolerate and cope with their anxiety, leading to a reduction in their symptoms over time. ERP is often used to treat obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), phobias, and other anxiety disorders, and has been shown to be an effective and evidence-based approach for managing these challenging conditions.
