Where are you located?

Backer Counseling is located in the Murray Hill neighborhood of Jacksonville, Florida. The address is 1138 Edgewood Ave South. We are located inside of Within Reach Wellness Center. Conveniently located between both I-10 and Roosevelt Blvd.

What is your availability?

We are currently seeing clients on Monday-Thursday and Saturday. Our first appointments start at 9:00am and our last appointment starts at 6:30pm (except Fridays where our last appointment starts at 4:00pm). We are able to provide telehealth services in addition to the times listed throughout the week. Please contact us for additional availability.

I don’t live in jacksonville, can we work together?

We provide telehealth services with a Licensed Mental Health Counselor to anyone in the state of Florida. You are able to be seen by the provider as long as you are in the state at the time of the session.

Do you accept insurance?

We are currently accepting Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna, Cigna and United/Optum. We are considered out of network for most other insurances. We are able to provide a Superbill for services that may be submitted to your insurance for possible reimbursement.

How often should i be seen?

Most clients prefer to be seen on either a weekly or biweekly basis. Anything less frequent may be used once we’ve reached a maintenance phase on your wellness journey.

what should i expect getting started?

Intakes primarily consist of information gathering. We ask questions across all areas to get as much information as possible to assist with goal setting. This allows us to work together towards identifying your desired goals.
